Accept ICEPAY payments in your WooCommerce store using the 'ICEPAY for WooCommerce' plugin.

Section titled “WooCommerce”The ‘ICEPAY for WooCommerce’ plugin connects your WooCommerce store to ICEPAY and adds supported ICEPAY payment methods to your checkout.
This guide explains how to install the plugin, connect your ICEPAY merchant, configure your payment methods, and test your checkout before going Live.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”Before installing the plugin, make sure your store meets the following requirements:
- WordPress 6.6 or higher
- WooCommerce 8.7 or higher
- PHP 8.2 or higher
- An ICEPAY account with access to a merchant
Install the plugin
Section titled “Install the plugin”The plugin can be installed manually using the ZIP package from the latest ICEPAY for WooCommerce release.

Download the plugin
Download the latest
icepay-for-woocommerceZIP package from the ICEPAY for WooCommerce releases. -
Open your WordPress plugins
Sign in to your WordPress Admin and go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.

Upload the plugin
Click Upload Plugin, select the ZIP file you downloaded, and click Install Now.

Activate the plugin
Once the installation is complete, activate ICEPAY for WooCommerce.
Connect your ICEPAY merchant
Section titled “Connect your ICEPAY merchant”Next, connect the plugin to the ICEPAY merchant that will process your payments.

Open the ICEPAY settings
In your WordPress Admin, go to WooCommerce → ICEPAY for WooCommerce.

Enter your merchant credentials
Enter the Merchant ID and Merchant Secret for your ICEPAY merchant.
You can find these credentials in the ICEPAY Portal by opening the merchant you want to connect.

Save your settings
Confirm the entered credentials and click Save changes.
Enable payment methods
Section titled “Enable payment methods”After connecting your merchant, choose which ICEPAY payment methods you want to offer during checkout.

Open the WooCommerce payment settings
Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments.

Enable your payment methods
Enable the ICEPAY payment methods you want to make available to your customers.

Configure the payment methods
Open an individual payment method to configure its settings, such as the name and description shown during checkout.

Save your changes
Save your WooCommerce payment settings when you’re finished.
Supported payment methods
Section titled “Supported payment methods”The ICEPAY for WooCommerce plugin currently supports:
- iDEAL | Wero
- Cards
- Bancontact
- PayPal
- Pay by Bank
- Online Überweisen
The payment methods available to your customers also depend on the payment methods enabled for your ICEPAY merchant.
Test your integration
Section titled “Test your integration”Before accepting real payments, place at least one order through your WooCommerce checkout while your ICEPAY merchant is in Test mode.

Add a product to your cart
Go through your store as a customer and add a product to the cart.

Proceed to checkout
Enter the required customer details and select one of the ICEPAY payment methods.

Place the order
Place the order and continue to the ICEPAY payment page.

Complete the test payment
In Test mode, use the ICEPAY payment page to select the result of the test payment.

Check the WooCommerce order
Return to WooCommerce → Orders and verify that the order status has been updated correctly.

Check the payment in the ICEPAY Portal
Open the payment in the ICEPAY Portal and verify that its status matches the WooCommerce order.
How payments work
Section titled “How payments work”Once the plugin is configured, the payment flow is handled automatically.

The customer places an order
The customer selects an ICEPAY payment method and places the order in WooCommerce.

The payment is created
The plugin creates the payment with ICEPAY using the order information and billing details.

The customer completes the payment
The customer continues to the ICEPAY payment page to complete the payment.

WooCommerce receives the payment result
ICEPAY sends the payment status back to your store and the plugin updates the WooCommerce order accordingly.
You do not need to create your own redirect or payment status endpoints when using the WooCommerce plugin.
Refund an order
Section titled “Refund an order”Refunds can be initiated directly from WooCommerce for payments that support refunds.

Open the order
Go to WooCommerce → Orders and open the order you want to refund.

Start the refund
Click Refund and enter the amount you want to return to the customer.

Submit the refund
Confirm the refund through the ICEPAY payment gateway.
You can issue a full refund or refund only part of the order amount.
Updating the plugin
Section titled “Updating the plugin”Before updating the ICEPAY for WooCommerce plugin on a production store, we recommend testing the new version in a staging environment and creating a backup of your store.
Download the latest plugin release and follow the WordPress plugin update process to install the new version.
Go Live
Section titled “Go Live”Once you have successfully tested your store, you can prepare your ICEPAY merchant for real payments.

Verify your checkout
Make sure your enabled payment methods appear correctly and that test orders receive the expected WooCommerce status.

Submit your merchant for approval
Your merchant must be approved before it can process real payments.

Switch the merchant to Live mode
Once approved, switch the merchant from Test to Live in the ICEPAY Portal.

Place a final order
We recommend placing a small Live order to verify the complete payment flow.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If a payment does not behave as expected:
- check the corresponding WooCommerce order and its order notes;
- verify the payment status in the ICEPAY Portal;
- confirm that the correct Merchant ID and Merchant Secret are configured;
- make sure the ICEPAY payment method is enabled in WooCommerce → Settings → Payments;
- confirm that your WordPress, WooCommerce, and PHP versions meet the plugin requirements.
